We are the 'Community Church on the High Street'

We serve Haslemere, Hindhead, Grayshott Beacon Hill, Fernhurst and surrounding villages. We are part of the East Solent & Downs Methodist Circuit which includes 20 Methodist Churches from here to Gosport.

There are close links with the other churches in the area, and we are the centre for many community activities during the week, including the Haslemere Food Bank.

Worship: The Church exists to increase awareness of God’s presence and to celebrate God’s love Learning.

Caring: The Church exists to help people to grow and learn as Christians, through mutual support and care.

Service: The Church exists to be a good neighbour to people in need and to challenge injustice.

Evangelism: The Church exists to make more followers of Jesus Christ.

What We Have Available

Worship

Every Sunday at 10am. Services are led by the minister of the church or one of the Local Preachers from the East Solent & Downs Methodist Circuit. The sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated once a month. We have a small choir and music is provided by our organist and our pianist and we also have audio-visual facilities. After the service, we extend our time of fellowship over coffee in our Open Door Coffee Lounge.

Morning Prayer

Every Thursday morning at 9:30am for about half an hour. This is held in the sanctuary and is a time of quiet prayer and reflection on Scripture. If there is a particular person or situation that you would like us to pray for, please write it up on the whiteboard in the foyer. Otherwise all are welcome to join us in the sanctuary for prayer.

Open door coffee lounge

Our café is open on Tuesday to Saturday from 10am until 12 noon. The café is a calm, friendly space with a reading corner and a children’s toy corner. There is always someone on hand to listen if you just need someone to talk to. Otherwise it is just a good place to idle away the morning with friends over a great cup of coffee – and cake! On Wednesday and Friday mornings the cafe opens a little earlier – at 9:15 am – for self-service breakfast. Anyone is welcome to come and help themselves to coffee & fruit juice, toast & bacon, cereal, fruit & yoghurt.

Bible study

Tuesdays at 2pm in the Coffee Lounge. This is generally led by the minister and tends to be organised in sessions on particular books of the Bible or particular topics.

Food Bank

Haslemere Methodist Church, along with other churches in the town, supports the work of the food bank and is a collection point for food donations. The church also hosts the annual special Christmas food bank distribution which seeks to ease the extra financial burden which that season brings.

There are two meeting rooms, a hall, the sanctuary and the coffee lounge including a modern, well equipped kitchen.
